Women’s Retreat April 3-5th Calvary Chapel Conference Center Murrieta Hot Springs

The Fruit of the Spirit

This year’s theme is taken from Galatians 5:22-23

But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things.

Our retreat will be held at the Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Murireta Hot Springs, the same facility that hosted us last year. They have a great site with a beautiful lake and a cute little coffee shop. We are really looking forward to what the Lord has in store for the Seaside Women this year as we celebrate The Fruit of the Spirit. Tickets are $185 and are available for purchase at the Retreat Table on Sundays. You can pay by check or, something new this year…you can pay by credit card. There are forms to fill out at the Retreat Table.

***We are looking for a bunch of volunteers to help make this retreat One To Remember. There are several teams to serve on, from Fundraising & Registration to Marketing & Prayer***

We want to make sure that no one is overwhelmed and that everyone can enjoy the full experience of the retreat!!

Team meetings will begin Sunday, Feb 1st at the church office. We will meet for about 2 hours and attendance at all of the meetings is required. There will be 5 meetings total and then a follow-up dinner meeting after the retreat.

There will not be food provided or encouraged – please come with a full stomach, a notebook and all of your ides!

Here is a better idea of the Teams

  • Registration: Will be at the table on Sundays for both services to sign people up, receive the payments for tickets and keep track of list of those attending.
  • Retreat Greeters: Will handle Check In & Check Out, hand out room keys, name tags and the retreat booklets
  • Fundraising: This team will help us make some extra money for scholarships. You will come up with some fun ideas, plan them out and get the word out.
  • Helping Hands: You will be onsite to help with the general mobility of the Women of Wisdom, get luggage to rooms, have maps of the facility and answer questions about the schedule. You will also be the First Aid team, just in case someone needs a little extra attention. One person on this team will be assigned to the Speaker
  • Marketing: Will create and produce the Retreat booklets and any paperwork or handouts that we need. The booklet will include schedule, map, music lyrics and some other basic info.
  • Prayer: will keep us in their prayers, lead the women in prayer and handle our communion on Sunday.

Each team will need several people and please try get involved and encourage others to get involved. Thank you to all of you who have signed up, you will receive reminder emails later in the week about the meeting on Sunday!!

The only way that it all happens is if we help it to happen!

When you know what team you want to help with, please email me at Keri@seasidewomen.org and let me know.

Calvary Chapel has recently updated the Conference Center website and it’s beautiful – For more info on the site click HERE

  1. Yay!

I can’t wait for the first Retreat Meeting this Sunday! See you there!

  2. Hello Lovelies…(this is a favorite greeting of Keri Welch’s)

Here’s what is already happening – God is on the move in the Seaside sisters! So good.

Gaylynn just emailed me that she’s cooking up some classes, one in February and another one in March. Cooking Classes, perfect. Now I can cook, but I thrive on the conversation and good cheer that happens around food. And, who knows, maybe we’ll invite someone over for dinner, featuring one of the dishes we learn in class. Trust me, these classes are gracious and fun! You’ll be glad you came.

Look for fliers (soon) at the Women’s Table. And if you’re up for it, let Gaylynn Ambrose know that you’re interested in coming alongside her as she reveals more about the Cooking Classes.

Also, Gaylynn’s daughter, Amber Sides introduced me to a great event, The Belle of the Ball, an event to encourage teenage girls. You can check it out in the Blog entry “And they’ll know they are Christians”.

So, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Gaylynn and Amber both have such beautifully tender hearts; I love those girls.
